Armed officers stopped a vehicle near Ide, on the outskirts of Exeter, where a man was apprehended.

Local resident Winston Churchslope recorded flashing blue lights as cops arrived at the pub.

He said: "Looks like there has been quite a few stabbings.

"Apparently the knifing person is still on the f***ing run. He's stabbed people and run.

"F***ing nuts. This don't happen in Plymouth."

The police helicopter was seen flying overhead and Albert Road itself has also been sealed off, according to eyewitnesses.

A police cordon is in place as police stand guard at the scene.
