Baby Lilibet's name could spark a surge in the number of children selecting the Queen's affectionate nickname for their newborn children, royal commentators are predicting.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle named their daughter Lilibet Diana after Her Majesty the Queen and Harry's mother Diana, the late Princess of Wales.
'Royally Us' Podcast hosts Molly Mulshine and Joe Drake said Americans may choose to name their daughter Lilibet after the birth of the royal baby, the Mirror reports.
Mulshine said: "I think there's going to be a big uptick in Americans naming their children Lilibet now. The question is how the Royal Family is going to feel about that.
"They might think it's a nice tribute or maybe not so much. I don't really know yet."
Mr Drake added: "I think old names are coming back. My niece is named Margaret, she was just born about a year and a half ago.
"Rather than like Mckenzie and Brittany, we're starting to see those old names really come back.
"I think with the likes of Harry and Meghan naming their daughter Lilibet, it's going to give us common folk a little bit more courage to name our kids something more old school."
Harry and Meghan's daughter was born at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in California on June 4.
A statement released on behalf of the royal parents said: "Lili is named after her great-grandmother, Her Majesty The Queen, whose family nickname is Lilibet.
"Her middle name, Diana, was chosen to honour her beloved late grandmother, The Princess of Wales.
"This is the second child for the couple, who also have a two-year-old son named Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.
"The Duke and Duchess thank you for your warm wishes and prayers as they enjoy this special time as a family.”

When Harry and Meghan announced Lili's birth, Buckingham Palace responded saying the family was "delighted".
They said in a statement: "The Queen, the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall, and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have been informed and are delighted with the news."
Harry and Meghan are reported to be keeping the Royal Family up to date with Lilibet's early life by sending photos into the royal's WhatsApp group, according to ET Online.
Lilibet is the royal couple's second child after two-year-old son Archie.
