BBC reporter falls to knees inside hospital as he finds friends among the dead

BBC Arabic reporters find their friends among the injured and dead

A BBC reporter fell to his knees after realising his friends were among the dead at his local hospital in Gaza.

Journalist Adnan El-Bursh, who works for BBC Arabic, has lost dozens of friends and neighbours as the deadly Israel-Hamas war rages on after a spate of attacks.

He described how there are ‘bodies everywhere’ at Al-Shifa Hospital, the largest in the Gaza Strip.

In a horrifying video on the BBC, a young girl whose relatives have been killed can be seen crying as a doctor tends to her wounds.

The journalist said: “I have seen things I can never unsee.”

He added: “This is my local hospital. Inside are my friends, my neighbours, this is my community.

“Today has been one of the most difficult days of my career.”

Horrific scenes at the hospital, captured on camera, show the hospital being overwhelmed by huge numbers of patients.

People scream out for help, while dead bodies are scattered around the facility.

It comes as Israel continues to bombard the Gaza Strip in retaliation after Hamas terrorists killed around 1,300 people in Israel.

On Saturday, Hamas invaders swooped in on the Nova music festival, where hundreds of innocent lives were lost.

Last night, Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu shared horrifying pictures, which decided not to publish due to their graphic nature, confirming innocent babies had been murdered.

Because it has legal uses, white phosphorus is not banned as a chemical weapon under international conventions – but it can cause serious burns and start fires.

At least 1,500 Palestinians have been killed in retaliatory bombing campaigns, while Israel has also stepped up patrols against Lebanon’s Hezbollah group.
