Weatherman Matt Taylor told BBC Breakfast many across the UK will see mist and cloud lift, giving way to much sunnier and brighter spells across the country. While temperatures will only remain in the high teens, many will enjoy dryer days for the latter half of this week. Only northern Scotland will see the odd shower as clouds move across the area but Mr Taylor said it was “good news” for many who will see much better weather from now on.
Speaking on BBC Breakfast, Mr Taylor remarked on the rain which hit parts of the UK on Tuesday.
He said: “A rather wet day yesterday wasn’t it for some of you, particularly across eastern parts of the UK.
“Good news is it will be dry today once again, over the next few days fair bit of dry weather and some sunny spells breaking through the mist and low cloud.
“And it is a little bit foggy out there for some.
“I say mostly dry, there are one or two spots of rain still lingering from yesterday particularly across the northeast of England through the Vale of York.
“And we do have a zone of thicker cloud and patchy rain now pushing eastwards across Northern Ireland into western parts of Scotland.
“The odd shower in the far northeast of Scotland too.”
Mr Taylor then revealed the majority of the UK will see pleasant weather.

He added: “But most of you said we’ll have a dry day, mist and fog patches sticking across the Midlands should lift and break with some good sunny spells into the afternoon.
“Always a bit cloudy through Northern Ireland and western Scotland.
“Going to the [Wednesday] afternoon as we head towards the school pickup and towards the evening rush hour, it may just be a little bit grey and damp here.
“But with some sunshine breaking through eastern Scotland, there could be one or two heavy showers into the afternoon.
“Temperatures though still into the upper teens.
“Much of England and Wales will be dry in the afternoons and good sunny spells, much better day through these eastern parts.

“It will stay cloudy for one or two compared with yesterday, it will be brighter and it will feel a little bit warmer.”
The weatherman then looked at overnight and into Thursday with much of the same forecast.
He continued: “As you go into this [Wednesday] evening and overnight, we’ll continue to see some splashes of rain push across the northern half of Scotland.
“The odd further south, most will be dry but a few mist and fog patches into tomorrow.
“A fresher start tomorrow as well.
“And then as we go through the next few days, there’s a chance of some rain pushing in from the west, but overall, a lot of dry weather.”
