A lad was left "so, so hungry" after ordering a KFC with his last £20 only to be unable to eat it because it was "rock hard".
Ryan Hobbs, 32, had just £20.21 left in his bank account but decided to splash out, spending £20.19 on the special meal for himself and partner Matt Evered, 31, SomersetLive reports.
He used UberEats to purchase the meal from the KFC in Bath, Somerset, on Thursday, January 14.
The Twerton couple plumped for the Zinger Box Meal with two hot wings, and the Fillet Box Meal with one piece of chicken. Both meals came to around £8.99 each, plus the UberEats delivery charge.
Matt says he "despises anything like mayonnaise" and ordered his Zinger burger with sweet chilli sauce instead.
However, then things began to go wrong. the couple placed their order around 6pm and almost an hour later it arrived – but not without a hitch.
The Uber Eats driver allegedly struggled to find their address, so the couple went out to meet them. By this time, both men were ravenous and eager to unwrap their KFC goodies.
However, Matt was in for a nasty shock.

The "beautiful, golden burger" he had ordered was nowhere to be seen and in its place was a strange "lump of pinkish chicken".
"It was really, really bad. Like rock hard," Matt said.
His partner added: "It was surrounded by chargrilled fat and there was no lettuce, no salad."
Meanwhile, Ryan, who had ordered his burger plain, received a burger with salad; while Matt had been given mayonnaise and no salad at all.
"I specifically asked for no mayo, and that was the only thing I got," Matt said.
Ryan added: "We are not sure whether they got them the wrong way round, but he couldn’t even eat his meal and he was so, so hungry."
The pair went straight to KFC with their complaint but were told to go through Uber Eats. A few hours later, they received an email from Uber Eats to say a refund of £7.99 (for Matt's burger) would arrive within three working days.
In response to the couple's bad experience, a KFC spokesman said: "Hands up…this definitely doesn’t look up to our usual high standards so we’ve checked in with the team to make sure this doesn’t happen again.
"We’d never want to leave one of our guests disappointed so we’ve been in touch with Uber Eats and our guest has received a full refund on his meal."
