Denver weather: Another red flag warning Friday as winds, heat continue
Another red flag warning is in effect Friday for the Denver area, the foothills and much of eastern Colorado from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., setting a record after multiple days of the high-risk fire weather conditions this week, the National Weather Service said.
Winds are expected to reach between 6 and 16 mph, gusting up to 25 mph with low humidity, causing concern for the rapid spread of flames. Friday’s high is forecast to reach 77 degrees under sunny skies.
The overnight low is expected to be 48 degrees.
Sunny, warm weather is forecast through the weekend, with highs in the 89s, and expected to rise further early next week.
A slight chance of rain and thunderstorms could come early next week to interrupt the stretch of sunny weather.
