Deputies respond to 911 call for help in El Paso County and find a body inside a home

At least one body has been found inside an El Paso County residence after a person called 911 for help, the sheriff’s office said.

The 911 call was made just after 10 a.m. and sheriff’s deputies, along with other emergency responders, went to a home in the 1300 block of Pleier Drive, said Lt. Deborah Mynatt.

“When they arrived they discovered at least one deceased person on scene,” Mynatt said in a written statement.

A reverse 911 call was made for the immediate area, within a 2-mile radius of the home, east of Interstate 25 and north of Northgate, and residents were advised to “shelter in place, lock their doors and windows, and stay away from exterior walls.” The Sheriff’s Office Tactical Support Unit responded to the scene.

An investigation is ongoing. The reverse 911 order has been lifted. The sheriff’s office did not release further details about the crime scene or evidence.

The area where authorities responded is rolling hills with large homes set on expansive properties. Ponderosa pines and native shrubs and grasses fill in the landscape connected by single lane, blacktop roads.
