Dog owner’s mind-blowing hack to get hair out of carpets without clogging vacuum

A dog owner has shared an ingenious hack to tackle the problem of hair shed from his three beloved pooches.

Mike Sellers has three moulting dogs, meaning they also come with dreaded piles of hair clogging up his vacuum cleaner.

The fur can get everywhere and nestle deeply in carpets, proving an absolute nightmare to get rid of.

But he's found a "life hack" that helped him get rid of far more fur than vacuuming alone – and the piece of equipment needed isn't anything fancy.

Sharing onto his TikTok account @badass.dog.family, Mike shows how a window or floor squeegee does an amazing job at removing it from floors.

In the video, Mike uses an extendable squeegee, pulling up loads of fur which had been lingering around.

The caption joked: “This will save me emptying the vacuum about 200 times.”

Viewers see him use his squeegee to scrape over the carpet with seemingly minimal effort.

A few seconds later a mound of hair has been removed.

The video quickly went viral, receiving more than 353,000 likes, 31,000 shares and thousands of comments, becoming his most popular video of the year.

One viewer commented: “Mind is blown!”

And another viewer dubbed Mike "the hero we didn’t know we needed."

One TikTok user posted: “I have a husky, German Shepherd and an Akita mix so this is great info!”

And even cat owners got involved, writing: “Omg! Thank you for this. I have three cats (sorry not dogs) but this will literally do the same thing for me!”

Other commenters were more soothed by the video than the hack itself, writing: “Please do the whole floor and show us – it’s so satisfying!”

And forgetting the animals altogether, a final commenter concluded the discussion, asking: “What about human hair? Because I shed worse than my animals!”
