A Donald Trump waxwork was taken to a museum’s storage room after being repeatedly punched in the face.
The figure of the former US President was on display at Louis Tussaud’s Waxworks in San Antonio, Texas, the US.
A few visitors pummelled and scratched its face, leaving deep cuts.
Clay Stewart, regional manager for museum owners Ripley Entertainment told San Antonio Express-News: "They punched and scratched the figure, inflicting so much damage that management had it pulled from public view."
He continued: "When it's a highly political figure, attacks can be a problem."
The attacks heated up as the 2020 presidential election neared.
At one point, officials tried keeping the figure in the lobby where workers could keep an eye out for vandals.
However, they still continued to launch attacks.
The museum is unlikely to spruce Trump up again until they receive a figure of current US President Joe Biden.
However, he is not the first president wax figure to be attacked at the museum.
Mr Stewart said: "We’ve always had trouble with the presidential section because no matter what president it was – Bush, Obama, or Trump – they’ve all had people beat them.
"The ears were torn off Obama six times. And then Bush’s nose was punched in."
Obama's figure was afterwards sent out to be repaired.
However, Trump has been stuck in the museum because Covid restrictions have led to a shortage of artists.
