Eastbound lanes of I-70 temporarily shut down in Evergreen area by trailer fire.
Eastbound lanes of Interstate 70 were closed Saturday morning in the Evergreen area by a semi-trailer fire. The fire is out and one lane remains closed as firefighters make sure the trailer does not rekindle.
The trailer caught fire near mile marker 249, the Colorado State Patrol said on Twitter at 8:44 a.m.
Firefighters with Evergreen Fire and Rescue and the Foothills Fire Protection District put out the fire. The highway was reopened, but one lane remains closed as firefighters remain on the scene to assure that the trailer is safe before it is towed away. There were no reports of injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Drivers should use caution in the area, slow down and move over.
