Ex-cop ‘held woman captive for 5 months, torturing and forcibly and raping her’

A former police officer has been accused of torturing and forcibly raping a woman he held prisoner for nearly six months – even though the alarm was raised with cops on numerous occasions.
Officers were repeatedly called to a house where former policeman Peter McGuire is alleged to have kept the woman prisoner – but they failed to go into the building to investigate further.
A criminal complaint has been lodged against McGuire, from Chino Hills, California.

But neighbours have told The Sun that police have had plenty of opportunities to take action since the turn of the year.
The local force confirmed there had been seven or eight call-outs to McGuire’s home over the past few months.
“There have been calls for service from nearby neighbours since the beginning of the year referencing possible domestic disturbance," Chino Hills police said.
"A deputy responded to each of the calls and no disturbance was ever substantiated. The house was quiet and no one answered the door during each of the calls."
According to the criminal complaint, the woman was held from January 1 until June 9. It states that McGuire – who has pleaded not guilty to all charges – “did cut and disable the tongue, and put out an eye and slit the nose, ear and lip” of the victim.

The complaint says the woman managed to escape on June 9 by running out of the back of the home and into a park, where witnesses called 911.
A neighbour told The Sun that when officers broke into the home through the garage, McGuire wasn’t there. Police later said that he’d fled to Placentia, about 15 miles away. When they tracked him down, he initially barricaded himself inside before surrendering peacefully.
The charges filed against McGuire include torture, kidnapping to commit another crime, kidnapping, mayhem, assault with a deadly weapon, false imprisonment by violence, forcible rape, sodomy by use of force and forcible oral copulation.
