Google Maps user overjoyed after dad’s cheeky gesture on Street View

A Google Maps user was delighted to spot his dad waving to the camera on Street View.

Twitter user Ryan, from Ontario in Canada, shared the snap on Thursday, February 4.

In it, Ryan’s dad is pictured outside the garage holding a hose in shorts and a T-shirt.

His quick-thinking father stopped what he was doing and decided to give the Google car a wave.

Ryan wrote: “My dad waving to the google maps car and existing on street view until google updates brings me joy.”

Earlier this month, a Google Maps user spotted a "crying face" made out of a road cutting through the Arizona desert in the US.

The road, in the Red Valley, Apache County, is near the rural area of Red Rock, which had a population of just 169 people in a 2010 census.

The Google Maps user was quick to share the incredible discovery on Reddit, and others couldn't believe it.

One person said it looked like a "crying face", to which someone else replied: "I see a more stern, serious, almost 'warrior' face."

The region appears to be used for oil and gas extraction, with Nacogdoches Oil & Gas Yard located around 3km [1.8 miles] away.

Days earlier, a Google Maps userspotted a homeowner's explicit rant on the top of their house– and speculated it has been left after their request to blur their home from the platform's satellite view was denied.

They found the house in Neese Lane in Moss Point, Mississippi, US, and shared the discovery on Monday, January 25.

The message “F**k you” is visible on the roof.
