Faisal Sultan, Special Assistant to prime minister Imran Khan on National Health Services today tweeted: “Prim minister Imran Khan has tested positive for Covid-19 and is self-isolating at home.” Pakistan’s prime minister Imran Khan received his first dose of China’s Sinopharm coronavirus vaccine on Thursday.

Referring to Mr Khan’s recent vaccination one Twitter follower of Mr Sultan said: “He was injected with vaccine two days back.”

Another replied: “Vaccine is not a magic wand!

“Vaccine is effective two weeks after the second dose.

“He only got one dose and apparently he must have had Covid since before getting even the first dose as it takes few days for symptoms to start appearing.”
