Josef Fritzl calls himself ‘family man’ and ‘good guy’ in new book

Sex offender Josef Fritzl has penned a book after being convicted of locking his daughter in a cellar for 24 years and fathering seven children with her. In Fritzel’s novel titled ‘Die Abgruende des Josef F’ or ‘The Abysses of Josef F’ the 87-year-old is quoted as saying he is a “good guy” and a “responsible family man”.

Fritzl also boasts of having several illegitimate children overseas, which he insists were a result of “dozens of sexual affairs” during business trips.

This book was penned by Fritzl with the help of lawyer Astrid Wagner, while he serves a life sentence for his crimes, which include incest, rape, coercion, false imprisonment, enslavement, and the negligent homicide of one of his infant sons.

He claims to not understand why his wife Rosemarie refused to speak to him.

Looking back at his arrest in 2008, Fritzl wrote: “I was completely alone with my thoughts. There was no one I could confide in.”

In the book, Fritzl details his life in prison, where he implies that he sees himself as having a higher ranking than other prisoners.

But admit to actively avoiding the yard at Stein prison in Krems an der Donau “because there are a few prisoners just waiting to be able to beat me up”.

According to German newspaper BILD, Fritzl’s lawyer, Dr Wagner, who co-wrote the book detailing Fritzl’s life, said that he needs legal assistance with the publication of his autobiography.

Fritzl is said to be well-liked by most of his fellow prisoners, and although previous reports suggest he is unpopular, he is reportedly kept in solitary confinement.

The book claims that Fritzl is a “responsible family man” and a “good guy” who has not yet mastered his “inner demons,” and is a “master of suppression.”

He is polite and very charming.

“Josef Fritzl is only human, not a beast. “

She added: “He is a man who has not mastered his inner demons.

“He not only lived a double life, but in principle a quadruple life.

“Fritzl is a master of suppression.”
