Kate beats Meghan, Eugenie and Beatrice as she’s crowned ‘most Instagrammable’

Kate Middleton has beat other prominent royal women and couples in the racking up of hashtags on Instagram.

This means that the Duchess of Cambridge has been crowned the most Instagrammable royal woman ever, according to research into social media trends.

The Duchess beat Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, as well as Prince Charles with both the late Princess Diana and the Duchess of Cornwall.

In the ranking of couples, Prince William and the Duchess both generated 2.2 million hashtags between them, Express reports.

But Kate out performed her husband in the Instagram polls, generating a new 1.3 million hashtags on her own.

And this performance was enough for the Duchess of Cambridge to beat all of the other senior female royals.

Photography experts Printique looked at Instagram hashtags for 24 of the most popular royal couples globally, pulling results for many of the shacked-up royals.

Instagram is constantly growing as a popular platform for the royal family who are able to effectively reach out to their fans and promote their causes.

A spokesperson for Printique said: “Royal couples are a source of fascination all over the world, and this data shows just how much online influence they can command.

Harry and Meghan were able to bring in a large fan base through their Instagram account, @SussexRoyal, which amassed over 10 million followers.

But this account has been noticeably inactive since the couple stepped away from royal duties in March 2020.

William and Kate have now broken their follower count and clocked in a whopping 13.2 million followers on Instagram – using their account to provide regular updates on their work and life.

Among the other royals ranked were Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, as well as Prince Charles with both the late Princess Diana and the Duchess of Cornwall.

The Cambridges most recently uploaded a cute family portrait that is due to appear on the family's Christmas card this year.

The photo shows the pair, along with their three children – George, Charlotte and Louis – sitting outside on the rocks during a trip to Jordan earlier this year.

They are all smiling broadly at the camera, with Kate and William placing their hands on each other’s legs.

As well as being an adorable family memory, it also proves Prince William kept a promise he made to his wife back in 2018, the Daily Mirror reports.

Their choice of snap is a nod to Kate's family, the Middletons, as it was taken in Jordan, which they called home for three years when Kate’s father Michael worked in the region as a British Airways pilot.

The family loved their time there and have previously shared photos from the period in the 1980s.

In 2018 William visited Jordan as part of a five-day tour of the Middle East, but Kate had to miss the trip as she was on maternity leave having just welcomed Prince Louis.

He said Kate was "very upset" to miss the visit as she was keen to return to the area.
