A man has gone on a rampage with a bow and arrow in the Norwegian town of Kongsberg, leaving multiple dead.
Norway Police have confirmed a suspect has been arrested, with crime scenes in several locations
Police attended the scene after receiving several messages from people in the Kongsberg centre that a person was moving around with a weapon believed to be a bow and arrow at around 6.13 pm.
A number of people were also injured during the attacks.
Police Chief Oeyvind Aas said: "The man has been apprehended…from the information we now have, this person carried out these actions alone.
"Several people have been injured and several are dead."
The perpetrator has moved over a large area in Kongsberg centre as police forces are in place across the area.
Local residents have said they have seen police cars and helicopters in the area as they have been warned to stay indoors.
Minister of Justice Monica Mæland has been informed about the case, according to NRK.
Press contact in Vestre Viken, Ole-Jonny Karlstrøm, told the publication that Drammen hospital is on standby and that they are working to get an overview of the situation.
It had not been confirmed whether the attack is being treated as a terror incident.
