Palace insiders fury at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s ‘breach of trust’

Palace insiders are said to be furious after Prince William and Prince Harry's private peace talks were leaked by Meghan Markle's telly pal after she spoke to the Duchess.

TV personality Gayle King let slip that the brothers had spoken for the first time since the Oprah Winfrey interview, telling millions of viewers on CBS she had spoken to the couple who said the talks were "unproductive".

It has been branded "a shocking breach of trust" by Harry and Meghan against the Palace by royal expert Penny Junor.

Insiders say the Queen's statement that the Royal family would address the accusations made by the couple in the Oprah interview privately was a clear indication that issues would be ironed out behind closed doors.

As the fallout from the interview continues, Gayle, 66, declared that Harry, 36, had finally spoken to his brother and dad Prince Charles at the weekend.

She also said no one from the Royal family had spoken to Meghan, 39, since the bombshell Oprah chat.

Gayle told CBS This Morning: "Well, I'm not trying to break news, but I did actually call them to see how they are feeling and it's true, Harry has talked to his brother and he has talked to his father, too.

"The word I was given was, those conversations were not productive. But they are glad they at least started a conversation."

She also claimed there was "no word" on whether the Palace was probing accusations made by Meghan in the Oprah interview.

They include that Kate Middleton made Meghan cry in a row over bridesmaid dresses and that someone in the family was concerned over baby Archie's skin tone.

Critics branded the Duke and Duchess of Sussex hypocrites after they accused Palace aides of leaking stories about them when they were working royals.

Penny Junor, a royal biographer said: "It's a shocking breach of trust. The family will worry that anything they say to Harry will end up on American television."

Royal author Tom Quinn added that Gayle King's comments will have upset the Palace and the couple had "once again, shot themselves in the foot".

A spokesman for Harry and Meghan declined to comment.
