Prince William to miss Harry’s Invictus Games as Meghan Markle ‘at centre’

Meghan Markle will be "front and centre" supporting Prince Harry at the Invictus Games but Royal family members Prince William and Kate Middleton will reportedly give it a miss.

The Duke of Sussex is working "flat out" on the event, a source told The Sun, which will be held in the Hague in 12 weeks time.

Harry and Meghan both share a passion for the games and are believed to be aiming to see as many military personnel competing against one another as possible.

While the duo are likely to fly out to the Netherlands ahead of May's event, other members of the Royal Family are unlikely to attend.

An insider told The Sun it is "highly unlikely that he and Kate will be part of the event in any way" and the games are "very much in Harry's vision."

The source said: "William had not been expected to attend even before the news broke about Harry and Meghan’s decision to step away from public life.

“So it is highly unlikely that he and Kate will be a part of the event in any way.

“But it isn’t a snub, the entire Royal Family remain hugely supportive and very proud of Harry’s work on Invictus and think it is a wonderful event.

“It’s very much in Harry’s vision although he regularly turned to his father for advice and support over the years.

“It is unlikely to be any different this time around but Harry will be front and centre.”
