Prince William’s ‘trouser struggle’ before Prince Harry married Meghan Markle

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle tied the knot while millions of people around the world watched from their TV screens.

Thousands had also turned up to Windsor to catch a glimpse of the newlyweds.

But while onlookers could hear the church service itself, they missed the small comments the Royals made between themselves.

Luckily, expert lip reader Terry Ruane has revealed what was said.

One of the things you will have missed was the hilarious comment Prince William made to Prince Harry moments before his brother was getting married.

As the brothers walked towards the chapel of St George’s Hall, Windsor Castle, William moaned “my trousers are too tight”.

He was complaining that his military uniform was on the small side.

The slim-fitting trousers are called “overalls” and are fastened by a leather strap, as part of the frock-coat uniform of the Blues and Royals .

The Queen granted her grandsons permission to wear the uniform, which is part of the Household Cavalry of the British Army.

The outfits were cut and made by hand by Savile Row’s Dege & Skinner.

Apparently this wasn’t the only time during the wedding that one of the Royals would moan about their trousers.

But this time it was the groom himself who was struggling with his choice of outfit.

After the ceremony, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex embarked on a tour of Windsor in a horse-drawn carriage.

In the biography Finding Freedom, the royal authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand wrote: “Sitting down in the carriage beside his bride, Harry laughter that his trousers were ‘too tight’.”

Meanwhile, Meghan was awestruck by the crowds, and could be seen saying the word “wow!” multiple times.
