Putin’s bombs leave adorable dog deaf – but pooch saved by Andrea Bocelli

An adorable dog left deafened and with fractured bones by Vladimir Putin's bombs in Ukraine has incredibly been rescued by Italian singer Andrea Bocelli.

The pooch, called Jack, was found in the city of Kupyansk by volunteers from Kyiv in the days after Ukrainian forces won it back from the Russian invaders.

Oles Malyarevich, Deputy of Kyiv City Council, told an American friend about Jack. The friend then promised to find the dog a new home.

One month prior to Kupyansk being liberated, world-famous blind tenor Bocelli shared an emotional message on social media revealing that his beloved family dog Chopin had died.

He wrote on Instagram: "After eleven years of silent joy, you lazily left this world without complaint on a hot summer day.

"You were and will remain a part of us, a greeting, a smile, a thought full of gratitude and sweet memories."

Luckily, Bocelli did not have to wait long before welcoming another special dog into his life as Malyarevich's friend managed to pair him with Jack.

Jack was transported to Kyiv where vets spent five days trying to save him, pulling shards of shrapnel from his back.

Volunteers then organised his journey to Italy where he met his new owners, the Bocelli family.

Malyarevich shared heartwarming images of Jack and Bocelli meeting for the first time, with the visually impaired singer seen bending down to stroke the excited pooch.

In a Facebook post documenting the incredible story, Malyarevich wrote: "Miracles happen even in the darkest of times.

"Thank you to the Bocelli family for your big heart and kindness. We wish Jack a new happy life!"

The dog is now safe and sound with the Bocellis in Forte dei Marmi, a scenic town in the north east of Italy.
