Vladmir Putin ’s cronies have created a macho aftershave that smells like a fighter jet.
Rostec, a state-owned defence giant founded by President Putin, partnered with the Perfumers Guild of Russia to manufacture the scent, which is called Checkmate.
The fragrance has been released to promote the group’s fifth-generation Sukhoi Su-75 Checkmate warplane, tipped to hit the skies in 2023.
A Rostec spokesman said: “Checkmate fighter jet-scented perfume created in Russia. The notes of the fragrance combine the scents of glass, natural leather and metals used in the construction of the fuselage, engines and cockpit of the aircraft.”
On social media, one person joked: “What are scents of glass? That sounds like asbestos.”
It comes amid rising tensions between Russia and NATO countries.
The nation is reportedly amassing troops on the Ukrainian border, sparking fears of an invasion.
Last month, strongman Putin said that Russia has hypersonic nuclear missiles that are "on alert" and capable of destroying cities in the US.
Speaking at an energy forum in Moscow, the Russian leader also said that his "intercontinental" weapons can travel five times faster than those being developed in America.
He bragged with pride: "This is not just a hypersonic, this is an intercontinental missile.
"This is a much more serious weapon than you just said. And they are already on alert in Russia."
Thankfully, he went on to say that nobody was under direct threat from these super nukes for now, and that other countries are rapidly trying to catch up with the Russian technology.
He continued: "There is nothing unusual here. The high-tech armies of the world will have such systems, they will, and in the near future.
"We do not abuse this, we do not threaten anyone."
Recently, the Pentagon announced that the US had created and tested a missile capable of speeds faster than five times the speed of sound.
