‘Racist royal’ was ‘realistic’ about Meghan and Harry’s baby, claims John Barnes

The 'racist royal' who allegedly asked Prince Harry what colour baby Archie would be was just "being realistic" about British society, John Barnes claimed.

Barnes said most black people he knows replied "So what?" when they heard about the shocking allegation made by the Sussexes against a senior member of the family, The Mirror reported.

Harry told Oprah in the bombshell interview earlier this year that a senior family member expressed anxiety at what colour his child with Meghan would be.

In an official response, the Queen pointed out that "recollections may vary".

But Barnesy, 57, wasn't too concerned – and said the family member was more likely asking an innocent question based on the state of British society.

He told the Sunday Times in an interview yesterday: “If you listen to what Meghan says, it’s not about them worrying if the baby is dark or not, it’s them worrying about how the public are going to view that.

“Because they know if the baby is too dark, the public will not view the baby as positively.

"They’re being realistic.

He told the Guardian two years ago his commitment to speaking out about race and politics is as strong as ever.

The frequent Sky News guest said: “I give balanced, constructive views and what happens is that bits and pieces of what I say are used against me.
