Return of big venues points to Denver's live music comeback — The Know

With its reputation as one of the country’s most lucrative touring markets, the Denver metro area and Front Range in general are poised to satisfy pent-up demand for live concerts this year.

This week, multiple venues have announced larger, nationally touring shows alongside already-scheduled (and in some cases, sold-out) nights from regional and local acts, with the hope that vaccination rates will have risen and infections fallen by the time they arrive. Major venues include Red Rocks Amphitheatre (now with a 2,500-person capacity, thanks to a variance), the Paramount Theatre, Boulder Theater and Chautauqua Auditorium.

Here’s a survey — by no means comprehensive — of newly announced and rescheduled shows at these larger venues. All details are subject to change without notice following updated COVID-19 mandates from the state. In some cases, prices may also be noticeably higher for new tickets (to make up for an ongoing lack of revenue).

Many of the recent announcements include shows rescheduled from 2020 and early 2021 — which means tickets to previous events are still good, and refunds are likely (and finally) available at the point of purchase. See the venues’ respective ticketing websites for details.
