Royal fans defend Kate Middleton following attacks on Prince Louis parenting

Royal fans have leapt to Kate Middleton's defence after harsh comments about her parenting skills.

The Duchess of Cambridge's handling of her children has come under the spotlight after Prince Louis was filmed 'acting out' during the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations, with some attributing his behaviour to a lack of discipline from his mother.

Louis first drew attention on the balcony on Thursday (June 2) during the RAF flypast as he was caught covering his ears as the Red Arrows flew overhead.

The four-year-old was then spotted again on Sunday (June 5) covering his mother Kate's mouth during the pageant, and appeared to blow a raspberry at his mother when she requested him to stop.

After some on social media claimed the incidents showed a lack of boundaries on the part of young Louis, royal fans have rallied around Kate to defend her against accusations of bad parenting.

One Twitter user posted a photograph of Kate showing Louis leaning on her shoulder and wrote: "A loving mum navigating parenting 3 children with the eyes of the world on her and criticism at every turn. She deserves better."

While another suggested the comments came from those without experience of parenting, saying: "There's no way those critics have ever had a 4yo child, much less a 4yo boy. All boys that age do stuff like this, but none of them are watched by millions."

A third user echoed these comments, penning: "Anyone picking on Prince Louis has had no experience with 4 year olds."

Prince William and Kate marked Louis' Jubilee antics with their own cheeky post on Twitter, and confirmed their three children enjoyed the spectacular events.

The Cambridges said: "What a fantastic weekend of celebrations. Seeing people across the nation coming together with family, friends and loved ones has been extremely special.

"Thank you to everyone who turned out to show their gratitude to The Queen and her inspiring 70 years of leadership. From the crowds on the Mall to communities hosting street parties up and down the country, we hope you had a weekend to remember.

"We all had an incredible time, especially Louis… W & C."
