Two boys have been rushed to hospital with serious injuries following a horror crash on a major motorway.
The crash involving a car and a van has shut the M60 motorway through Tameside in Greater Manchester.
Two air ambulances have been scrambled to the collision which took place near junction 24 at 2.30pm.
A spokeswoman for North West Ambulance Service said two boys have been taken to hospital.
She said: "We attended with two air ambulances, three ambulances a rapid response vehicle and advanced paramedic.
“Two patients have been taken to hospital. Both are children via road ambulance.
“They are thought to be two boys aged six and ten. Their injuries are serious.
“Two other patients are being treated at the scene. One air ambulance is still at the scene.”
The road is expected to remain closed for a while.
