Wetherspoon to open 139 more pubs in UK with extended hours – see full list

Wetherspoon bosses are opening a further 139 pubs in the UK next week.

The popular chain opened 394 of its boozers on Monday, April 12, when coronavirus lockdown regulations changed to allow outdoor hospitality service.

Venues which will soon be opening their doors to customers again include those in Guildford, Surrey, Ilkeston, Derbyshire, Nottingham, Lincoln, Reading, Berkshire and London.

They will open on Monday, April 26, with 44 pubs in England, 60 in Scotland and 32 in Wales opening on that day.

Three pubs in Northern Ireland will open on Friday, April 31, meaning a total of 533 of the company's 871 boozers will be back in business.

Wetherspoon chief executive John Hutson said: "We are looking forward to opening the extra pubs in England as well as those in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

"We look forward to welcoming our customers and staff back to our pubs."

From next week all open pubs in the chain will be extending their opening hours for an extra hour each day.

In England pubs will be open from 9am to 10pm Sunday through to Thursday, and 9am to 11pm on Friday and Saturday.

They will offer a slightly reduced menu, to include breakfast, burgers, pizza, deli deals, fish and chips and British classics. Food in pubs in England will be available from 9am to 9pm seven days a week.

Customers will be able to order and pay through the Wetherspoon app, however, Wetherspoon staff will be able to take orders and payment at the table from those who don’t have the app.

The firms pubs will not be operating a booking system but test and trace for Covid-19 will be in operation.
